Our Culture

At CBG, we are committed to reoccurring events, ongoing education, and training programs that set a foundation for success and a culture that compliments your working hours.

We're of the mind that a happy employee creates a more productive and positive work environment, so we are committed to recurring events, ongoing education, and training programs that set a foundation for success and a culture that compliments your working hours.

Training

Training for interns and new hires at CBG is a thorough, yet enriching process. Over the course of 5-9 weeks a year, team members are split up into small groups and work on a previously finished project from the initial big-picture planning stage to visiting the completed site itself. Principals and Design Engineers are available during the project to answer questions and work through questions and the provided design criteria.

For current CBG employees, these hands-on sessions are supplemented with discussions and bag-lunch seminars throughout the year, which encourages the company to collaborate on design challenges and focus on the fundamentals of the civil engineering process.

CBG Events

Taking advantage of Northern California's seasons and the opportunity to get outdoors and out of the office, CBG hosts events at least once a quarter.

company picnic

Nothing better than a CBG picnic! A fantastic day for all our employees to enjoy the sun, take part in fun games and eat great food!

The Annual Company Picnic provides an opportunity for all employees and their family / friends to enjoy quality time having fun outside of the office. There was the 1st annual Company Kickball Game, tasty food trucks, raffles, arts and crafts and more!

Summer Happy Hour

To beat the heat in the long summer months, the team enjoyed cold refreshments at McGah's Pub in downtown Danville. It was the perfect opportunity to stay cool, enjoy drinks, socialize, and have fun together with new hires.

Bocce

CBG hosts an Annual Bocce event to test our skills on the bocce courts. Teams are set for a winner take all tournament and the lively competition is always accompanied by good food and plenty of drinks!

Ski Day

As a winter activity during a season of good snow, CBG chartered a bus and headed up to the high Sierras to spend a day at Sugar Bowl. Staff either hit the slopes or headed straight for the lodge for a warm beverage—either way, everyone had fun!

Holiday Party: A Casino Night

For the annual holiday party, CBG rented out Forbes Mill Steak House and transformed the space into a Casino night where some went big and all had a great time enjoying games, food, and drinks.

Client Golf

CBG hosted our clients on the golf course at Wente Vineyards in Livermore. We took to the golf course for the day—some golfed, others enjoyed great Wente wines. The round was followed by cocktail hour and a chance to mingle with our clients.

Family Bowling Night

For a night of family-friendly fun, all CBG employees were encouraged to bring the whole family to Danville Bowl for an evening of games, food, and drinks.
